Dr. Alan Heager of the University of California, Santa Barbara, and developer of power plastic photovoltaics, dreams of bringing solar power of every one. Dr. Heager explains, 'The sun is shining. The energy that we receive from the sun in one hour here on the earth is sufficient to handle the energy needs of the planet for a year.' He has developed technology which removes the expense of producing solar cells, making them affordable for every person on the planet to cheaply own.

The New Colossus
"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she
With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Al Gore, T Boone Pickens: PAINT THE WINDMILLS

This video talks about the many benefits of painting windmills from practical & psychological ones like:
1. giving employment to artists
2. creating a tourist attraction in an area that has been completely devoid of tourists.
3. creating a public relations opportunity for businesss
4. Using the white canvas of a windmill for creating art.
5.Using paint that has photovoltaic cells so thereby not just having wind energy but solar energy as well.
6. Public relations benefit for the U.S. that says that we don't jst go green but go green with style.

The problems that we would have to resolve would be making sure that functionality & visibility would not be effected. Also there would be design issues since this would be open to the public. For example, no lewd or pornographic content would be allowed.
While the practical benefits are plentiful the psychologocal are just as important. This project would be a reminder of this generation's commitment to future generations & there responsibility to continue that legacy.
That is why I am creating a campaign called "PAINT THE WINDMILLS" & am looking for other individuals who might be interested.
